Game Show Night Names |
Everyone wears name tags at Game Show Night. But it's not your name. It's whoever you want to be. Some examples from previous nights were Bruiser, Muffin, UpsideDown Bob. This helps people let loose and have fun being their alter-egos. |

Liar Liar Pants on Fire -- Inspired by To Tell the Truth
This game is inspired by the 1960's game shows called To Tell The Truth. On that show there were 3 contestants -- someone who had some amazing story (such as “I spent 3 days in the desert without any water”) and Kitty Carlyle and her gang grilled these 3 folks to try to determine who was telling the truth, and who was lying. When you come to Game Show Night, we get you to write down the most interesting/unique thing about you. You may then be chosen as the person with the amazing story, or as an imposter or as a member of the panel asking the questions. And you'll get to vote for who you think is not the liar liar. Other “Amazing” stories chosen from previous Game Show Nights are: I have extremely high arches in my feet, and I've interviewed the last 2 US presidents |
The Who What Match Up Game --” an experiment in what you can tell about a person just by looking at 'em” This is a fun time for all, especially when the “Who”s start messing with the contestants.
When you come to Game Show Night, we get you to write down answers to about half a dozen little questions. Some examples are: What did you want to be when you grew up? What color underwear do you have on right now? What's the weirdest thing in your closet at home? So, for that last example: Dino writes “MRE's” If the first contestant is not 100% correct, another contestant gets to give it a try (hopefully learning from the 1st contestant's guesses.) The contestant who gets all 5 right, wins points. If no contestant get it right, the 5 folks on the panel win points. |
The Newly-MET Game- like the newlywed game if the husband and wife had never met each other. |
People are paired off at random (genders don't matter) and for a few minutes you get to know your new partner in terms of a stated category such as “How was your day” or “Last Vacation” or “Favorite Hobby”. Then you're asked questions Newlywed-Game style. This was Very Popular!!! |
Scrambled Legs, Hold the Vowels (Haven't done this one yet. |
Contestants are split up into 2 teams, and everyone becomes a consonant letter. (A consonant is pinned to each person's shirt.) A question is asked such as “What State are we in right now?” The answer is obviously Alabama. Without the vowels, Alabama is spelled LBM, so the team that spells out LBM first (by the L-person, the B-person and the M-person moving to the correct place) wins. There's no speaking, touching or pointing, so it will be all about other gesturing and thought-communications to help your teammates do this and do it first. |
Crazy Commercial Competition |
Teams of 2 hawk (QVC-style) items. Other audience members hand the most entertaining team “credit-cards” and the team with the most credit-cards win points. |
Match Game 205
This was suggested by an attendee at an earlier Game Show Night.... Remember Gene Rayburn and his super long skinny microphone, Fannie Flagg, Charles Nelson Reilly. And how every other question could be answered with either Boobs or Whoopee. Dumb Dora is so dumb (How dumb is she?) when she goes through airport security, instead of taking off her shoes, she takes off her BLANKS. Silly Serena was so silly that instead of going to Game Show Night, she BLANKED. |
Paper Rock Scissors |
To win the prize of the night, you must face the others in the dreaded but delightful paper rock scissor competition at the end. If you've won lots of points throughout the night, you're in a favored position in this round, but you still must win at least one bout. Paper covers Rock |
Mr/Ms Conviviality |
The Grand Prize Winner gets to pick the person that (during the Game Show Night) provided the most entertainment to the other contestants. This person gets a prize from the Prize Basket too. So remember... be good... or just be amusing. |
Honk If You Know It |
A trivia type game where the 3 contestants will sit on the scooters and toot their horns to “buzz in” |
And more coming. |
Just come by and tell me. |
